MPIDR Databases with a New Look

Dear Readers,

Winter has now arrived here in Rostock on the Baltic coast. We have even had the first snow of the year. If you are cozy at home, take a look at our freely accessible demographic databases. Together with partner institutions worldwide, we maintain and expand collections on a wide variety of topics.

The largest and oldest database is the Human Mortality Database (HMD). It is the world's leading scientific data resource on mortality in high-income countries. Currently, the HMD provides detailed high-quality harmonized mortality and population estimates from 41 countries to researchers, students, journalists, policy analysts, and anyone interested in longevity.

Like the HMD, the Human Life-Table Database (HLD), the Human Fertility Database (HFD) and the COVerAGE Database are launched in a new, modern and user-friendly look. An overview of all databases can be found on our website.

Have fun discovering them.

Happy Holidays!

Dear Colleagues and Friends of the Institute, we wish you a joyous end to the year and a happy 2023.
