The new issue (No. 04/2024) of Demografische Forschung Aus Erster Hand, the popular science newsletter with latest research results from demography, has been released.
The Newsletter is available in German only.
"Demografische Forschung Aus Erster Hand" is a joint publication of the Max Planck Institute for demographic Research (MPIDR), the Rostocker Zentrum zur Erforschung des Demografischen Wandels (RZ), the Vienna Institute of Demography (VID), the Wittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global Human Capital and the Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB).

Emigration-minded
Max Planck Institute for demographic Research (MPIDR)
According to media reports, many Russians wanted to leave their country after the Russian attack on Ukraine. However, there are little data on this. A team of researchers has now investigated whether this assumption can be confirmed with the help of a data source that has hardly been used in science to date.
MIGRATION
Emigration Makes People Happier
Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB)
So far, little is known about how people from affluent societies fare when they emigrate to a foreign country. However, this group is so large that it cannot be neglected.
FERTILITY
Number of Children of Inter-ethnic Couples
Rostocker Zentrums zur Erforschung des Demografischen Wandels (RZ)
Migration and mobility mean that more and more people are entering into partnerships with people from another country. The fertility of interethnic or binational couples has hardly been studied to date.
The newsletter is released four times a year and is available electronically and as a printed version and is free of charge.
It's definitely worth taking a look at the newsletter website - the editors have relaunched the site. The site now has many new features such as full-text search in all issues, all articles are tagged with keywords and all graphics are
