2nd Conference of the Rostocker Ring

The 2nd Conference of the Rostocker Ring will be held on May 29-30, 2013 at the MPIDR. Alumni and friends of the Institute are invited to attend and  young researchers have the opportunity  to meet senior scientists in a “speed-informing session”.

The Rostocker Ring is an initiative  helping friends, alumni, and current members of the MPIDR to stay in touch. The inaugural conference of the Rostocker Ring was held in 2010. The upcoming 2nd conference in May is devoted to new and innovative research in the field of demography, to which friends, alumni and staff of the MPIDR will contribute.

The conference starts  with a “speed-informing session”, where our younger researchers will be given the opportunity to meet with alumni who have chosen many different career paths after their time at the Max Planck Institute, including careers in science. The session is designed to encourage a concerted exchange of information and close interaction between alumni and junior researchers at the MPIDR.

The conference program can be viewed on the conference homepage. For directions to the MPIDR, please visit text=directions.

If you would like to attend the conference, please register by April 24, sending an e-mail to Annett Doepke (ring@demogr.mpg.de). Please indicate whether you plan on joining the barbecue on May 29 and the boat trip on May 30. Please note that there will be a charge of 20€ for a boat trip.
