Start of the “International Advanced Studies in Demography” Program

The new training program “International Advanced Studies in Demography” (IDEM) will start in November 2013. The program is the successor of the International Max Planck Research School for Demography and is mainly made for PhD students. Application deadline is September 18.

The Training program includes courses on demographic change, aging, fertility, biological demography and other issues at the forefront of population research.

IDEM is aimed principally at enhancing doctoral research. Postdoctoral researchers may also apply for IDEM courses. Because demography is an interdisciplinary field, students come from many educational backgrounds. However, all need a strong foundation in mathematics and statistics and a good command of English.
