Kin ties are the building blocks of family systems. How are kinship networks structured, how are they shaped by demographic change, and how do kin ties affect individuals, families, and societies? The Research Group on Kinship Inequalities studies these questions by combining insights from analytical family demography with novel data, methods, and technologies from related disciplines.
