Project

Analyzing Male Fertility: Toward a Comparative Approach

Conducted by Mikko Myrskylä; Christian Dudel, Susie Lee, Mathias Lerch, Kieron Barclay; in Collaboration with Jessica Nisén (University of Helsinki, Finland), Sebastian Klüsener (Federal Institute for Population Research, Wiesbaden, Germany), Martin Kolk (Stockholm University, Sweden)

We demonstrate considerable variation in the differences between male and female fertility across countries and over time in both the quantum and timing of fertility. We also develop and evaluate approaches to address the lack of data on male fertility, including reproductive maturation as captured by pubertal timing.  Detailed Description
