A low birth weight is considered a risk factor for decreased cognitive abilities in later life. This risk factor now seems to be dissolving; it is much less pronounced in younger birth cohorts. more

Life expectancy: trends among the highly educated show the way

Over the last century, life expectancy rose on average by three months a year. As this trend is mainly attributable to life expectancy gains among  more educated people people are getting older. This shows that there is still considerable room for for an increase in the average life expectancy to continue to improve. more
