WORKSHOP ON EVOLUTIONARY DEMOGRAPHY
June 6-8, 2012 in Rostock, Germany
Hosts: Jim Vaupel and Annette Baudisch,
Program coordinator:Alexander Scheuerlein,
Administrative contact: Ulrike Liebich
Participants, please check back soon for these important documents.
Evolutionary Demography is a rapidly growing interdisciplinary field, but large scientific meetings dedicated to this topic are rare. MPIDR's large group of evolutionary demographers wish to increase interactions with and among our colleagues from around the world. The workshop will focus on understanding the evolutionary causes and consequences of demographic patterns over age (or stage) of the life-history traits of mortality, fertility and migration and associated traits such as physical size and growth and population size, structure and dynamics.
We aim to bring together about 60 researchers who are making important contributions to this line of research-including evolutionary theorists and modelers, life-history ecologists and biodemographers interested in plants, birds, fish and other taxa.
Every participant will get time on the program to present exciting new results of his or her research. We wish to provide an opportunity to establish and refresh collaboration to facilitate path-breaking research in evolutionary demography. Travel expenses (at lowest reasonable rates), accommodation and meals will be covered by our institute.
We hope you share our enthusiasm about this workshop in evolutionary demography-and we hope very much that you will be able to join us.
